David started at Nissan in 1992 as a trainee maintenance technician and following completion of an engineering degree worked as a production engineer. From 2001 he led the introduction of 3D CAD systems to NMUK and became the CAD/CAE subject matter expert, managing the PLM tools for engineering at Sunderland, along with support for the new model digital phase and leading the in-house design and simulation team. He spent 5 years in IS and IT with roles covering PLM systems, contract management and leading the strategy around Industry 4.0 and factory of the future initiatives. More recently he has been working in the European Engineering function leading various digital innovation projects and acting as the program manager for the Innovate UK backed Smart Connected Shop Floor consortium program with other leading UK manufacturing companies.
David has over 20 years’ experience driving organisational change and leading large teams for Leonardo, across Europe, in operational, supply chain and engineering business functions. In 2018 his focus shifted towards digital transformation, leading the company DevOps department, charged with building web applications to deliver internal operational efficiencies and enhanced customer value. He is currently working on a range of projects to extend these tools to exploit advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to provide enhanced predictive and policy optimisation capabilities for the company.
Jake has been a mechanical engineer for 10+ years working within the automotive and aerospace industries. His role at Avica Aerospace Ltd is Head of Engineering which he has been doing for about 6 months and he is a chartered engineer as part of the IMeche. He has been heavily involved in project engineering and developing new products for the companies he’s worked for. Currently, his role is within aerospace where is focus is on design for manufacture and trying to create a right first time culture within the business.
Ondrej Polak is a senior leader within the field of digital manufacturing transformation. His key experience is within design and implementation of a long term strategic digital transformation programs which ultimately lead to the world class operational excellence performance. In his current role, as a Process Development Manager, he is leading a consortium which successfully secured £1 million grant from Innovate UK for development of AI driven production system for the aerospace industry.
Rash is a senior leader with extensive experience in digital transformation and Industry 4.0 (Digital Manufacturing/Smart Manufacturing). He works with all levels of the organisation on digital strategy and business transformation. His goal is to inspire and lead high performing teams for a better future. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to lead diverse global teams to create value and competitive advantage. He is passionate about community investment, STEM and diversity and inclusion. Over the last decade, Rash has held several leadership positions at Rolls-Royce, leading technology strategy, development and implementation. Currently, he leads Manufacturing Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Smart Factory, Business Intelligence and Lo-Code/ No-Code platforms. He believes the democratisation of emerging digital capabilities will define the next generation of business transformation.
Roy Pearson has worked in various engineering roles within an Automotive environment for almost 20 years. Roy has built a varied and eclectic skillset having worked in maintenance, project, project management, launch, digitalisation and operations roles. He has a particular curiosity for all things digital and the best way to intertwine these disciplines into the daily life of a busy manufacturing company. Pushing the boundaries of “what we do” and “how we do it” by leveraging tools and techniques of more progressive industries and individuals. Preparing the business and it’s teams for the inevitable turbulence of market and environmental disruption.
